The base budget bills filed by leaders of the House and Senate fully fund House Bill 3’s investments in public education. As a supporter of local public schools, I am grateful that public education is a priority.

As you go through the budget process, please continue to prioritize state investments in public education. When the Legislature makes meaningful investments in our schools, teachers can better meet the needs of their students and there is less pressure on local property taxes.

Our students and teachers are facing many challenges from COVID-19. Now is not the time to cut their funding
